General Site Issues
How do I use this site?
To take full advantage of the site, we recommend that you create an account. Once you do this, validate your new account, log in and provide some more detailed profile information. Having an account on this site makes it possible for other companies looking for cross-promotion partners to find you. The more information you supply, the easier it will be to find the right cross-promotion partner for you.
You can search our site for cross-promotion partners using our basic or advanced search. If you do not find the right partner immediately, you may want to create a seach agent. A search agent is a saved search that searches the site daily for profiles that match your criteria. You can create a search agent from your dashboard.
You can interact with fellow Brand Torrent members through the discussion forum and groups. You will also find useful tips on marketing and cross-promotion from our editors by reading our site's blog.

Privacy and Notifications
How do I control my notification settings?
You can manage your notifications settings by clicking "Edit Privacy and Notification Settings" on your dashboard under the "My Profile" heading. You can choose whether to receive notifications about new messages and news from Brand Torrent.
Notification settings for search agents must be set by clicking the search agent's name from your dashboard and checking or unchecking the "Notify Me When There Are New Records That Match This Seach" checkbox and the clicking "Search and Save" button.
If you have created a private group you can manage your notificaiton preferences about new member requests by clicking the group name from your dashboard and selecting yes or no for the "Notify me when a user requests group membership" field and clicking the "Save Changes" button.
What privacy options are available?
There are two privacy options. You can choose to make your profile either hidden or
anonymous.
A hidden profile cannot be found through the member profile search. A user viewing your profile will see no details and they will see a notice that says the profile is hidden. A user with a hidden profile can still contact other users and be contacted. Hidden users can also participate in groups and the discussion forum.
An anonymous profile is just like a public profile except that your identifying information is hidden. This means your company name, uploaded photo and web address are withheld. Visitors can read the rest of your profile details and contact you.
What does it mean to block a user?
A blocked user will be unable to send you messages.
Partnering
How do I find a cross-promotion partner?
Click "serch members" from the left navigation, you can search for as much or as little detail as you'd like and we'll find members in our network who meet your criteria.
If you do not see any members who are the right fit now, you may wish to create "search agent". To do this, log into your account and click the "View My Dashboard" link on the top right side of the page.
Click the create seach agent link under "Search Agents" and fill out the form with details about your search parameters. Click the "Search and Save" button to store the search. If you chose to be notified about new matches, you'll receieve email notices when new matches are found that meet your criteria. You will always have a "New Matches" notice in red on your dashboard when you log into your account if we've found new matches that meet your search agent criteria.
Groups
What are groups?
Groups can be formed for members to meet and discuss specific common interests. These interests may be a shared industry, a shared marketing goal or just about anything else. You can explore the existing groups to see if there are some you'd like to join.
If you do not find a group that suits you, you can form a group around an interest you hope other Brand Torrent members share. You can create a group from your dashboard. You will see the link for this under "My Groups" on your dashboard page.
